picture of Fred & Shirley Fred Cherney and Shirley Echols.  Originally from Northern California, Shirley Echols played classical violin and performed as a song leader/guitarist in Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area. Later, in El Paso, Texas, she played Mariachi violin in San Pablo, and went on to perform with the New York State Old Tyme Fiddlers Association, playing guitar and old time fiddle.  Fred Cherney, grew up in Baltimore and performed in the early 60's with the folk group Park Avenue Ramblers.  He then kept up his musical roots, playing guitar and banjo, by doing occasional recordings used as background music for programs airing on PBS.  Most recently, he was a founding member of the folk group Kensington Station.

picture of Lisa and Don are two award-winning and highly experienced Northern Virginia guitarists, vocalists, and songwriters who have come together to form a highly entertaining acoustic musical experience that goes way beyond your typical acoustic duo.  With their strong vocals, compelling lead, slide, and 12 string guitar work, and seamless musical interplay, they bring real passion to their own original songwriting intermixed with some fun arrangements of a few bluesy classics!  They clearly have fun on stage and that translates to real audience enjoyment!  Native American musician, singer, and songwriter has been a mainstay mid-Atlantic artist well known for his work with Firefall’s Larry Burnett and their 2010 NAMMY Award winning CD Guitars & Vocals.  Don’s style, voice, and writing clearly harkens from his early influences including America, Poco, and other acoustic rock acts.  With his roots founded in early blues / rock, his style perfectly complements Lisa and the two together are a real treat.  WAMA nominated, singer/songwriter, blues based rockin’ guitarist/vocalist has been paying her dues in the music arena for the past decade plus!  She brings passion and full tilt energy to every stage she gracesd, regardless, how large or how small.  Performing in an acoustic setting with Don Chapman, gives her the opportunity to refine her story telling through her original songs and provides more up close and in person experience for her audience, as well.  You get a taste of her blues, roots, rock and Americana influences.  Tasteful acoustic guitar fills and trading vocal harmonies, merely skim the surface of what you experience with this combination of performers coming together.  Come see what the buzz is all about!

picture of Gathering Time is like a high-energy Peter, Paul & Mary or a co-ed Crosby, Stills & Nash, with various parts of The Byrds, Joni Mitchell, the Eagles and America; a head-turning folk-rock harmony trio described as "getting a whole beehive-full of buzz" on the northeast regional folk scene.  Stuart Markus, Hillary Foxsong, and Gerry McKeveny are known for "harmonies that can charm the birds out of the trees" and "having a ball on stage!"  Gathering Time's 2007 remake of Peter Yarrow's "Light One Candle" has been spun on stations ranging from NYC's top-rated WCBS-FM to Israel's Galilee plains; their 2008 CD Songs of Hope and Freedom won wide acceptance on folk stations nationwide.  In 2012 the trio's second CD Red Apples and Gold rose to #5 on the Folk DJ charts in September and to #12 on the national Roots Music Report radio charts in October, charting at #76 in the year-end Top 100 Albums.
