The Urban Legends are an acoustic quartet featuring Ruth Goldberg, vocals; Ira Gitlin, guitar and banjo; George Welling, vocals and upright bass; and Jamie Daly, vocals and mandolin. They play a unique blend of eclectic, intelligent, mellow-yet-sometimes-jazzy-and/or-twangy music, with a healthy dash of spunk and humor thrown in for good measure in the tradition of Jim Kweskin and The Jug Band, Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks, and The Roches. The Urban Legends have entertained audiences at clubs, festivals, and concerts throughout the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area since 1993.
