Wicomico is the Native American name of the county on Maryland's Eastern Shore where singer-songwriters Mikel Campbell and Carmen Yates were born and raised. The duo has been touring the east coast, and their musical explorations have created what the Postcrypt Bulletin calls "original, soulful, urban folk" and the Charlotte Observer calls "high-energy acoustic music". Their music is based on strong melodies that incorporatean imagery and insightfulness uniquely their own. The duo's music was heard in the film "Ice House" starring Melissa Gilbert and the Kodak company used their music video "She Don't Know" in an international advertising campaign.
